Six feet above: UK cemeteries set to construct mausoleums

The phrase ‘six feet under’ could soon be a thing of the past, due to a lack of space in UK cemeteries.

Instead, ‘six feet above’ could soon become commonplace, with stone mausoleums being constructed to accommodate for the newly departed.

Erith Cemetery in Bexley, South East London has been closed to fresh burials for 20 years, but a new memorial terrace has now been opened.
