The ongoing development of the herd was transferred to Scotland. Carefully considered 'continental' blood was introduced with all the obvious benefits and yet not prejudicing the major assets of 'outlying' characteristics.

This year new Galloway blood has been introduced from the Blackcraig herd which embraces Canadian and Australian lines.

The majority of heifer calves are retained for breeding whilst bull calves are usually sold as 'stores' with very selected retentions.
