welters Agricultural interests are in many respects closely related to other activities such as Leisure and Environmental Engineering in the form of Lake Construction, Water Provision, Storage, Land Drainage and Management.

welters have over many years owned a closed breeding herd of Suckler Cows which remains intact despite the extremely close proximity to 'Cull Areas' during the recent foot and mouth epidemic.

The herd was established on Dartmoor utilising Galloway Heifers from Castle Douglas being crossed with a Hereford Bull. The basis of an extremely hardy yet productive, outlying grass converting herd was established.
